This month we also entered into two retrogrades: Mercury from June 7th – July 15th in Cancer, and Neptune from June 9th – November 15th in Pisces. Now we all *think* we know that Mercury Rx means don’t sign anything, buy electronics, expect communications to glitch, etc. However, without being hung up on those static beliefs, let us just take a step back and allow for the big picture to shine through. Mercury is retrograde in the emotional Cancer, just before the Sun enters in July. This period is like a cosmic time out of sorts – a time to allow for distractions and glitches, to use them to reveal our Truth and our heart's desire. By allowing the next step to show up, rather than force what doesn’t work, we can *receive* the next Right Action to take…rather than DO-ing the next thing we think we should.
Neptune adds something special to this receptive time as well. The deep waters of intuition are at work here, and the currents go even deeper into our subconscious and supra conscious because of the retrograde flow. Think of reception, receiving, dreams, guidance. ..The picture in my mind is that of the silver platter filled with spring water and gazed upon under the light of the full Moon. While all this dreaminess is fine and well when we are in meditation, sleep, or prayer – it can be a bit edgy to walk through in the “real world.”
So if you catch yourself in a brain fog, overwhelmed by what to DO next, or dealing with emotional communication breakdown – Take a step back and go into the Left-brain. Dance, drum, color, listen to music, meditate, pray, write a gratitude journal, keep a poetry or dream journal… All of these activities take the masculine/ego out of the equation. While in that receptive place, the next action will reveal itself and flow easily from your Heart.
(It *just* happened to me as I was preparing to write this blog. I got too wrapped up in detail and distraction, so I printed out a mandala and put on music and colored for a while. As I did, the words began to come and the next step flowed with ease, and here we are.)
